What is Nu Skin Facial Spa?

The Facial Spa is a device that leaves you with visibly younger looking skin.

Put simply, the Facial Spa uses a galvanic current (also used by beauty professionals or in spa treatments), which allows the active components of the Nu Skin products to penetrate deep into your skin, to reach the dermis.

There are three main layers in our skin: the epidermis, the dermis and the hypodermis. When we use our fingers to apply a skincare product, even if it’s the best product in the world, we can only reach the outer layer, or epidermis. But when we enlist the help of technology, skincare products can penetrate our skin and reach the dermis layer. And that’s the best method for improving elasticity and other signs of ageing.

It’s interesting to point out that this device adapts its current to the thickness of your skin. That means that when in contact with your skin, the intensity of the galvanic current is automatically calculated in order to emit the perfect intensity for optimal efficiency, and you don’t have to adjust it manually.

How to use Nu Skin Facial Spa

Nu Skin Facial Spa is very easy to use and instructions will vary according to the different treatment you wish to carry out (facial, hair or body). Each treatment is relatively quick, as you can see from the table.

You can read the details of each step in the instruction manual that comes with your device, and you can contact me for guidance during your first usage, if you purchase this product through me.

But to give you an idea of how to use the Galvanic Spa on your face, I will explain the steps here. So you can see for yourself how quick and easy it is, even if you don’t enjoy spending a lot of time on your beauty regime.

Galvanic Spa Application 1: Pre-treatment – prepare the skin

This first stage of treatment is necessary to open pores, to get rid of any impurities deep within the skin and to prepare the skin for the second stage of treatment.

Apply the gel from the transparent container to your face and neck (if desired).

In order for the current to circulate well throughout the device, make sure you wet your fingers before touching the chrome plate on the back of the device.

Push the selection button until number 1 is shown on the display. This program will last 2 minutes.

Place the device on your face. You will hear an initial beep which means that the current has been adjusted to your skin. You will hear subsequent beeps during usage to signify that the current is circulating, because you will not feel anything – and it doesn’t hurt, I promise!

Slowly guide the device over your skin in an upward motion, making sure to move from the inside of your face to the outside. Hold the device down firmly when moving upwards and only lightly when moving downwards.

You can use the device on your under-eye area, around the eye, the outline of your face, the nasolabial fold (smile lines), the lion’s wrinkle (between your eyebrows) and on any expression lines and wrinkles.

Rinse your face with clean water and pat dry.

Galvanic Spa Application 2: Treatment of signs of ageing

This stage of treatment will provide you with the collagen needed to give your skin the plumpness and elasticity that you desire. This is the anti-ageing setting.

Clean the device head in between the first and second stages by rinsing it with water and then drying it completely.

This time, apply the gel from the blue container to clean, dry skin and repeat the same movements as during the first stage of treatment. The only difference here is that the treatment will last 3 minutes.

At the end of the 3 minutes, rinse and dry your face once more.

Galvanic Spa Application 3: Targeted fine line and wrinkle treatment

The third and final stage of your face treatment session requires the Tru Face Line Corrector and the Focus Area Conductor head. It allows you to target your most visible fine lines and wrinkles, such as the lion’s wrinkle, which is between your eyebrows. The goal is to make the wrinkles disappear completely, not simply to fill them in.

Start by removing the head of the device and securing the Focus Area Conductor, which is slightly smaller.

Apply a small amount of the Tru Face Line Corrector to the fine lines and wrinkles that you wish to treat.

With wet fingers, select application number 3 on the device which will last 5 minutes.

Move the device in small circular motions over the targeted fine lines and wrinkles.

It is worth pointing out that this correcting gel can be applied with your fingertips, without using the machine, though I don’t recommend this technique as the Galvanic Spa will penetrate a much deeper layer of your skin. It should be used daily before applying any other beauty product (serum, toner, moisturising cream, etc…).

How many times per week should you use the Galvanic Spa?

When first starting the treatment, you should carry out two sessions per week. This means that your first set of Facial Gels will last 1 month. Once you have achieved the desired results, you can reduce the frequency of use to just one session per week. 

Can I use the Galvanic Spa with other products?

No, you should never try to use the Galvanic Spa with skincare products from another brand.

Nu Skin products are ionised. The galvanic current allows the active components to penetrate a deeper level of your skin. This ionisation also draws any impurities in your skin towards it, and eliminates them.

If you use a standard gel with the Galvanic Spa device, the current will not circulate so will not penetrate the deeper levels of your skin.

How soon can I expect to see results from the Facial Spa? 

Believe it or not, it only takes one 10-minute treatment for the Facial Spa to produce immediate and noticeable results. When I first heard this, even I found it hard to believe. But after seeing so many before/after photos showing the lifting effect after just one use, I was literally amazed and convinced.

What is the difference between the Facial Spa and the LumiSpa?

The LumiSpa is a cleansing device for the skin on your face. This allows you to cleanse your skin, leaves you with a glowing complexion and reduces the size of pores.

The Facial Spa is a skincare device that allows you to maintain your skin’s youthful qualities. It improves the skin’s elasticity, leaving your skin deeply hydrated and plump. It can also be used on the neck, which is not the case for the LumiSpa.

Nu Skin’s LumiSpa and Galvanic Spa are therefore complementary devices.

What is the difference between the Galvanic Spa and the Galvanic Body Spa?

As its name suggests, the Galvanic Body Spa can only be used on the body, and not the face. You may be wondering what’s the point of buying this product if the Galvanic Spa treats the face, hair and body.

If you have large areas of skin that you wish to treat, the Galvanic Body Spa is a lot more practical. The surface area of the device that can make contact with your skin is much larger than on the standard Galvanic Spa. The standard model is great for smaller surface areas such as the arms or to target cellulite, but is not designed to treat larger areas at once, such as the thighs.
